Bio: Las Vegas Guided Tours began with a simple idea: history should be experienced, not just heard about. Today it’s known as the city of entertainment — once called the Jewel of the West — built by women, men, and bold risk-takers whose lives were often stranger, messier, and more compelling than anything printed in the guidebooks.
Jami Rodman set out to change that. She built a company to give voice to those nearly forgotten — and to make sure the real story of Las Vegas never disappears.
Rodman began walking the blocks herself, pushing deeper into a city most visitors never see. The people who never made the history books were still there, hidden in plain sight: madams and mob bosses who shaped the original Sin City, bouncers who became sheriffs, undercover agents and wiretapped speakeasies, shopkeepers, miners, and ranchers — the first developers who gambled on their luck and turned a dusty outpost into a thriving town.
If not in person, then in traces they left behind.
These tours aren’t about where guests go, but what they finally see. In small groups, history comes alive through layered storytelling and thoughtful use of modern technology. Guests leave feeling they’ve uncovered something rare in a city that’s hard to impress — stepping into the heart of old Vegas and experiencing a side of the city few ever do.
For years, Jami Rodman helped shape the look and feel of hotels, casinos, and hospitality spaces, using art, design, and detail to influence how people move through a place and what they take away from it. Over time, she began to notice something: Las Vegas was overflowing with remarkable stories, yet almost no one was being invited to truly experience them.
So she built a business where they could.
In just over a year, Las Vegas Guided Tours was named Best Historical Tour in Las Vegas 2025 by the Evergreen Awards. People want more than spectacle. They want context. They want stories that haven’t been polished to the point of erasure.
That same philosophy runs through her work beyond the tours. Rodman is also the author of The Las Vegas Madam: The Escorts, the Clients, the Truth, a book that examines parts of the city many don’t see. It isn’t comfortable — and it isn’t meant to be.
Las Vegas Guided Tours was built piece by piece: hours of research, forgotten memoirs, old court records, conversations with longtime locals, and nights spent in nearly forgotten hotels, tracing the footsteps of the people who shaped the city. Relationships with local businesses were formed one conversation at a time.
Her success isn’t about reinvention — it’s about refinement. Building on lived experience, honoring the stories that came before in a city that’s constantly evolving.
