Bio: Brandon Wong, 38, is the Owner and Founder of BW Hockey Inc., a training, leadership, and mentorship organization for young athletes. Growing up in a close-knit and athletic family with two younger siblings, Brandon developed a strong foundation in sports, academics, and teamwork. All three siblings went on to earn athletic scholarships, two in hockey and one in lacrosse, a testament to their shared dedication and discipline.
A Victoria, BC native, Brandon graduated from Claremont Secondary School before playing four years of Junior Hockey in the VIJHL and BCHL between the ages of 16 and 19. His talent on the ice earned him a full athletic scholarship to Quinnipiac University in Connecticut, where he played NCAA Division I hockey from 2006 to 2010 and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management.
Following his collegiate career, Brandon spent nearly a decade (2010–2019) as a professional ice hockey player, competing across North America, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Australia, China, and Russia. During this time, he not only honed his technical skills but also gained valuable experience in leadership, teamwork, and cultural adaptability. His tenure as a team captain in several leagues strengthened his ability to lead, communicate, and resolve conflicts under pressure.
In late 2017, Brandon founded BW Hockey Inc., combining his passion for hockey with his commitment to developing the next generation of athletes. His work focuses on training, mentorship, and character development, helping young players reach their full potential both on and off the ice.
Brandon’s strengths lie in his leadership, his natural ability to connect with youth and fans, and his deep understanding of what it takes to succeed in competitive environments. Drawing from his years as an elite athlete and his academic background in business, he continues to inspire and empower others through sport, mentorship, and community engagement.
